Introduction
In a perpetual quest for improvement and innovation, I recently launched the 7th version of my portfolio. Always faithful to my favorite technology stack - Next.js, Tailwind CSS and Strapi - this new iteration goes beyond the usual expectations. I focused on two main aspects: improving data management with a visual backend similar to Wordpress, and incorporating animations to create a captivating visual experience.
Optimizing performance and user experience
The primary objective of this redesign was to improve performance and SEO. To achieve this, I adopted a hybrid approach, similar to Wordpress, with a visual backend to manage data and a frontend that generates elements statically. This approach guarantees optimal loading speed and improved indexing by search engines.
Animation for powerful visual impact
To bring a touch of innovation and dynamism to my portfolio, I invested time and energy in animation. I started by creating animations in After Effects, which I then transformed into static images using MidJourney. Next, I cut out the elements to be animated before animating them in After Effects and integrating them directly into my site. This approach created fluid, engaging animations that captivated visitors from the moment they arrived on the site.
Details that make a difference
Among the details that add a touch of "wow" to my portfolio is a little animated cat that follows the cursor with its eyes on the home page. This animation, created with Midjourney and Illustrator, uses classic CSS animations and a mathematical formula to adjust the position of the eyes according to the position of the cursor. This playful detail adds a fun, interactive dimension to the user experience.
About Page update
The "About" page is an essential component of any portfolio, allowing visitors to get to know me better as a professional. For this new version, I've integrated a card animation created with the Bréval bookshop(https://brev.al), my best friend and collaborator. This animation adds a touch of originality and dynamism to the presentation of my skills and career path.
